Wildfire 4.0 64-bit on Vista 64 - Intermittent non-response issue

Gurus,

We have successfully implemented Wildfire 4.0-64 bit w/ Intralink 3.4
M061 on DELL Vista 64 workstations: 8Gb RAM, SX1700 Invidia Graphics,
etc., but we are having a non-response issue that seems to be related to
graphics. If anybody has any ideas or configuration tricks it would be
appreciated. Vista is so quirky that I am not sure what to try. Below
is the IT request from one of the engineers:

pro/e goes non-responsive at intermittent times during simple tasks &
starts banging away on my processors. seems to be related to graphics
related tasks (spinning a part in real-time).

Thanks,

I think vista doesn't support opengl graphics? so it would effectively
use win32_gdi unless you can get an opengl driver from the graphics
board vendor

Dave,

Strange. I have been running on 64 bit Vista Ultimate (NVidia Qudro FX
3700M) for a little while now and the performance and reliability have been
great with Pro/E. I would suggest double checking your graphics drivers
with Dell & PTC.

Good luck,

In our case we had a screen 'freezing' problem that was driving us crazy
until we discovered that when we had too much clutter on our desks the
papers would lightly rest on the space mouse, causing the screen to
rotate very slowly. (Damn, those things are sensitive! Maybe I just
need to clean my desk....)

Secondly, I have had problems with Windows XP (32bit) and CTFMON.EXE.
It can be halted, but any windows update will try to restart it.
According to Microsoft, it is related to keyboard input. We have had no
problems when the process is halted, and we know this also affects
windows explorer...

I have recently switched to 64bit Dell with 8GB RAM and NVIDIA quadro FX3700
and the only thing I notice is in WF4 M060 is a mouse issue when I am
rotating a part real time all of a sudden the part is gone from the screen.
If I click on refit button then the part is moved back onto the screen. This
has only been happening since the switch to WF4 M060. Another coworker has
the same identical machine and is having the same problem too. But besides
that not that many issues with the switch from 64bit to 32bit.
