Consistent Handling of Port Metatypes

Consistent Handling of Port Metatypes

Current Situation: When creating a port with a type it is created as "role", when it is created without a type, it is created as "attribute" (visible in Tellme). BUT: When a type is assigned to the initially non-typed port lateron, the metatype "attribute" does NOT change to "role".

Problem: This causes additional (API/wrapper programming) effort for handling Ports, particularly regarding Model information export, because they have to be handeled differently.

Idea: We suggest ports to be handeled in Modeler in a way such that untyped Ports (=Attributes) are changed to roles when they get a type assigned so that finally the same things are always of the same metatype.

hi Daniel,

Thanks for the idea and apologies for the slow reply.

This capability is planned in ART10-19300937. We have no firm plans to implement at the moment, but will consider for inclusion in Integrity Modeler 9.1 and provide any updates here.

regards,

Patrick
