Group membership reporting

When reporting group membership using any of the CLI calls or api, identify which groups the user is a direct member of and which they are a member of due to a nested group.

A simple SQL query will return the data you are looking for.

Other knows solutions:

Pull out all group details using CLI or API, and analyse programmatically the direct assigned groups. But this approach is quite complex, and you would always read data which you don't need to answer this question.

Workaround Description

Use the following SQL Command to list the direct group assignments (Oracle version):
select PrincipalName||';'||GroupName from MKSDomainGroupMembers where IsGroup=0 and PrincipalName='<username>';

Side effects:
When you execute this SQL using "im diag --runsql", this call will be tracked in the server.log
