Device Discovery
To be clear, I must create a channel in Kepserverex which requires I select a PLC driver from the list, before I can find Device Discovery in the context menu (See page 85 in the KEPServerEX V6 manual)? The Omron NJ channel I am using did not have "Device Discovery" in the context menu. But the manual does say "is available for drivers that support locating devices on the network." Of course, I don't know which drivers support it or not.
I created an Allen Bradley Control Logix Ethernet channel, then right clicked on the channel to find "Device Discovery." But there was no Device Discovery option in the menu. Should "Device Discovery" be in the context menu always? Is there a setting I am missing? Is there a way to use Kepserverex to look for an OPC connection or tell if a PLC has OPC UA or OPC DA enabled?

The "Device Discovery" feature in KEPServerEX is only available for certain drivers that support locating devices on the network. Unfortunately, not all drivers have this capability, which is why you might not see the option in the context menu for the Omron NJ or Allen Bradley Control Logix Ethernet channels, best of my knowledge BACnet/IP and SNMP drivers in KEPServerEX support Device Discovery natively.
Ensure that the driver you are using supports "Device Discovery." The KEPServerEX manual mentions that this feature is available for drivers that support network device discovery. You might need to check the specific driver documentation or contact Kepware support to confirm if the driver supports this feature.
The "Device Discovery" option should appear in the context menu if the driver supports it. If it's not showing up, it's likely that the driver does not support this feature.
OPC Connection Check: To check if a PLC has OPC UA or OPC DA enabled, you can use the following methods:
OPC DA: https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS298913
OPC DA: https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS294079
