Do I need license for KEPServerEX in development stage?

I am completely inexperienced in using KEPServerEX. I am already download KEPServerEX 6 demo version. Our company is currently implementing a project that will deploy the use of KEPware. I want to ask whether I need a license to use during the product development phase or not. If I want to use a driver that is not available in KEPWare's library, what do I need to do?
