Thingworx -> Kepware -> ODBC Database

Hello, everybody,

I am not very familiar with Kepware and have the following problem which I would like to solve.
Due to infrastructural circumstances we have the following constellation. Changes to the infrastructure are not possible.

We would like to connect via ODBC client to an information server that supports ODBC and periodically query certain tables.

Then I would like to use the Allways On protocol (Thingworx) to retrieve the data and move it to another database.

The question is whether it is possible to use Kepware as a source to query an ODBC-capable interface periodically (5 minutes) and forward the data to Thingworx.

Re: Thingworx -> Kepware -> ODBC Database

If the target ODBC connection is to a database that is supported, then yes, you can use the ODBC Client Driver to retrieve information from the tables and make the data available as tags within the Kepware application.

The default query interval (when using that device model type within the driver) is 250 ms.  If you only want to query the table periodically, we would recommend increasing that interval setting appropriately based on your data needs.

Once the tags have been updated within the Kepware application's cache, then you can use the Always On protocol to push those updates to the bound items in the Thingworx Platform the same way as any other tags.
