Is your system currently Part-centric or Model-centric? Also when you say ‘link’ is it a primary ownership association or a more like a document association?
In our case, we are model-centric and trying to move toward Part-centric. We have the model first then create/ associate the WTPart to the model in a workspace. So it sounds like you do it differently. In our case the Part is subjugate to the model as we learn to be more part-centric.
Having said that the process of association is pretty simple for us. Many times a user will create a new revision and not include the Part (I’m working on making that collection mandatory) so I will need to re-associate the model and part. That is fairly simple.
Not sure if this helps or confuses, in either case the process of association at any level is fairly uncomplicated, but being Raytheon, I am guessing there is a scale component in play as well.
