Creo CNC Wood Processing

Hello,

I am sorry if this has already been discussed. I have searched for this topic without success. I am interested in production processing wood components through a 3 axis router using Creo. It appears that the NC Sheetmetal option is intended to do this with metal components. Is there a similar option for wood parts? How are furniture companies who use Creo handling production cnc wood components?

Thank you,

Barry

Are you asking if there is a Creo function to optimize part layout to maximize yield by nesting? Or are you asking how to generate instructions in Creo to drive the router? I think there are some members of the community that use Creo for furniture design, perhaps they will weigh in with real world production experience.

If you are using a 3 axis (not 2.5 axis) router then I would assume the router needs G-code instructions to generate cutter paths. If Creo can output a compatible protocol it would most likely be done from the CNC extension and not sheet metal.

Thank you.

I am asking about nesting and production management like sheet metal offers for metal parts.
