Hi users -
I have a simple problem. I have a series of round pockets.
I want an easy way to mill them with one tool and one
sequence. I want to plunge 1/2 way down (.12 for example)
mill the pocket leaving .005 on a side. Then I want to
plunge and mill the pocket leaving .005 on wall and bottom. Then I want take one finish pass at full depth around it bringing it to size. I want the tool to stay down on all 3 passes.
I usually use trajectory for this but I end up with 4 passes.A
rough and finish 1/2 way then at full depth. Profile, trajectory and pocket will take 3 cuts but only at finish diameter.
I have quite a few pockets so I tried a mill volume. It will give me a very wide variety of toolpaths and lots of code but nothing simple. I realize that taking an extra pass in a 1/2" c'bore
won't take much time but any time I can save machining and programming would be welcome.
Thanks for your help, Rob
