Nvdia Drivers

I have a Dell T3400 workstation that has an Nvidia Quadro NVS 290 video card, we are running WF2 m180. The initial drivers loaded Pro/E ran fine, I updated to the latest drivers from Nvidia and there was strange issues when trying to move dimensions in Drawing mode. I uninstalled the updated video drivers and the problem went away. Any one using the same Nvidia card and what drivers are you on?

TIA.

As an addition to that, I'm just curious if anyone out there has used a
gamer's card for their cad workstation? For example, I currently use a
real cheap graphics card gigabyte hd4350(nvidia card), which I found is
perfectly useable in shaded mode, but real bad performance in wireframe
and hidden line mode. Does anyone have the same experience as me and how
do you solve this problem?

Thanks in advance

Best Regards,

A few years ago I bought a games card for my workstation and had bad
wireframe performance. So I talked to nVidia and they said that games
cards use a cut down version of OpenGL and ProE requires the full version,
therefore it doesn't work well. However, earlier this year I tried ProE on
a computer with an nVidia games card, unsurprisingly had poor performance
and went to download the latest driver. I noticed that the driver claimed
to supported full OpenGL and ProE now works perfectly. I suggest having a
look for the latest drivers. In regards to the original question, sorry,
can't help.

Video drivers is a continuous issue...

Using the most recent driver may work fine. But usually the best way is to use a driver version that is at least supported, if not certified by PTC. This may be a version that old, that it is no more in the standard download sites. Try asking the graphic card vendor explicitly.

The problem is worse when using a laptop. I know what I'm talking about...

BTW: Be very careful with IntelliMouse drivers, they can really mess up ProE.
