Piping Question - Volume

Good morning,

As a favor I am posting this question for a colleague who is unable to access this forum for the time being.

"How do other piping people out there get their total volume of what is inside the pipeline? Say you have a pipe
from flange to flange. How do I know how much Volume of water may be in that pipeline? Is there a way?
