Pro-Manufacturing Drawing Table

How can I produce a drawing documenting a manufacturing session which will include a table (repeat region?) that lists the tools, travel envelopes, profile stock allowance, etc for each milling sequence in the operation? The Manufacturing Process Table in the Process Manager seems to have access to most of the data I'd like to use (except travel envelope), but I don't know how to bring it into a repeat region. I've clicked on every button I can find, but no luck. Thanks for any help.

Gary, I'm afraid they don't make these things very obvious. I'm assuming you know how to set up a table with a Simple Repeat Region, and that you just can't find the parameter picks. Here's a sample four columns to get you started. Pick a cell in your repeat region, RMB, Report Parameter. Column 1: rpt...,index. Column 2: mfg...,oper...,ncseq...,name Column 3: mfg...,oper...,ncseq...,User Defined, TOOL_ID Column 4: mfg...,oper...,ncseq...,User Defined, PROF_STOCK_ALLOW As for "travel envelopes", I'm not sure what you mean by that. You can access any of the standard parameters as illustrated above. David

Gary, For completeness I should add that you can also create your own named parameters (maybe even "TRAVEL_ENVELOPE"), and include them in a table column using the User Defined report parameter specification. If you do this through the Relations menu, however, you will have to specify them for each sequence. David

Thanks, David. You've been very helpful, and I'm making good progress. The Travel Envelope I am refering to is defined by the maximum and minumum X, Y, and Z travel for each sequence. If you click on Info, Manufacturing..., and output information for NC Sequence, the output will contain this information. I doubt if this data can be used in a repeat region, but maybe it can, since the computer obviously has the numbers available somewhere. Actually, I am mostly interested in the maximum -Z travel to let the operator know how much clearance is necessary on the tool shank. Is there a different or better way to accomplish this? Thanks again. Gary

Gary, I think mfg...,oper...,ncseq...,User Defined,Z_MIN will serve your purpose. David

Cool! I should be able to do everything I was trying to do. Thanks again.

Hello David, Another question if you don't mind. What is the name of the user defined parameter to call up the tool position or pocket? Is there a source listing all these parameters and their exact syntax or spelling? With your help, I am very close to the results I am trying for. Thanks again. Gary Post

Gary, These available parameter names appear in several locations. Look for the all-caps-with-underscores names and values in logical places. You will see all your sequence-specific parameter names when you do Info/Manufacturing/NC Sequence, for example. You will see tool-specific names in the Tools Setup dialog box, etc. I believe the latest name you are asking for is TOOLPOSITION. You may also want the parameter named TOOL_ID. David
