To further the discussion about workstations and such I have a question
pertaining to data management. Is anyone using Agile (formally know as
Eigner) to manage their pro-e data? We just got some 64-bit Dell 490's
with 8Gig of ram and all of the other bells and whistles. The thing runs
like a champ, it's no Sun System, but saving assemblies into Agile from
64-bit environment takes forever. And let me quantify forever, 6000 part
assembly took 3 hours and 45 minutes to save. Using 32-bit it would take
maybe five minutes.
This software is great for managing pdf files and other documents but for
Pro-E its not making the grade in my opinion. I was just wondering if
anyone else is/was using this software for their data.

These are the Suggestions that i received:
Go to OLAF's website and review the Benchmark results
Sun Microsystems Ultra 24 machine
Dell's 490 Workstation to save some cash
Dell's 390 Workstation to save even more cash
Has a couple replies asking if what we had spec'd out was a little overkill
and one asking if I was bragging. And to that fellow...No, I'm not
bragging. I am tickled to hopefully get a machine that isn't built wrong
or outdated.
Thanks to everyone again that sent me thier suggestions and opinions.
