Tool lengths for right angle tools

I am interested in knowing how those of you that use right angle tools, handle the X and Z length in your programs.

What we have done in the past is to load the Z length in the H code

(H2) on the machine and then in the program pick it up with a G43 (G43 Z5.12 H2) and load the X length in the fixture offset (G54.1 P2) on the machine. We are working on setting up our Toyoda mill with a 16i control to probe the tool lengths and load them in the h register for the Z. We would like to get away from putting the X length in the fixture offsets if we can, so I was wondering how other places were handling this.

Thanks

Larry,
Some machines come with an axillary length offset for angle heads, or in
Pro/MFG you can put in the actual length and have cutter path offset by that
amount. You can even create a machine macro to handle the offset.
