Turning question - programming with OUTPUT_POINT set to TIP vs. CENTER
I need your help.
First, is anyone programming lathes using Pro/NC with OUTPUT_POINT set to TIP vs. CENTER? if so, is it working well for you? Have you run into any problems?
We typically programmed to CENTER here at Solar Turbines. We decided to switch to TIP because of a controller problem with a Mazak machine we purchased. We ran into a problem which leads into my next question.
Second, if you do use TIP vs. CENTER, have you angled a neutral tool at 45 degrees? Is the output you get from Pro/NC correct? From what I am seeing it is NOT. This is because the tip location is rotated with the tool which gives some odd numbers. If the tool is at 0 or 90 degrees, the output is good, if the tool is an any angle inbetween it gives incorrect output.
Any help would be appreciated.
