Optimizing region order

Optimizing region order

Is there a way to have Creo automatically order regions for the shortest path? When creating a large amount of hole features it works great. But for milling sequences I don't believe there is that option. I have been doing build cut and order regions but some of my local milling sequences have over 300 regions and this is very time consuming for something that should be simple.

I am using CREO 2.0 M060.

Do the 300 regions contain the same geometry? If so I'm thinking you could use the pattern tool to help control the order.

Unfortunately they are randomly located and of random sizes.

That would be a nice enhancement... Optimized toolpaths..finish one area then move to the next instead of jumping all over the part.

Like Nick said if there is any pattern to them, that would be the way to go or do a bunch of subroutines.

could you possibly make a template of one of the ordered regions then copy it to the others... just thinking as I am typing?

How does roughing\re-roughing look compared to volume mill\local mill ?
