Allow for consistent headings

Allow for consistent headings

1. Describe your environment: What is your industry? What is your role in your organization? Describe your stakeholders.
We are an engineering firm providing consultancy and our own product making, generally in the area of producing Building maintenance units, but increasingly services to the hydro electricity sector.

My role within the company is working as a design engineer, and as the CAD administrator, which also takes in MathCAD roles.

Stakeholders are our customers. The ability to produce clear results with an easy to follow layout is a must.
2. What version of Mathcad are you currently running?
Primarily, all of my users are clinging to MathCAD 15 till you pry it out of their hands, or if you implement this idea, I could convert them next week.

3. Describe the problem you are trying to solve. Please include detailed documentation such as screenshots, images or video.
The senior engineer has a particular layout for his calculations. And probably like most people likes to break it up into sections dealing with one item or another.

Unfortunately for Prime, there is no way other than changing all the font settings manually to the same setting every time, or copying an existing title and moving it down the sheet, which seems rather clunky and kind of stupid. So please provide a "predefinable" dropdown like this example from MC15

Or to maintain the same heading bars as word which would fit in with the current ribbon bar

Which will make keeping consistent looking documents much easier, maybe even easier than MC15 is now.

4. What is the use case for your organization?

As you can see, a number of headings are used in the basic template (some of the definitions are no longer needed, but this is a hangover from earlier versions of MathCAD). We'd like to continue to use these if possible going forward to produce clear consistent calculations where information can be easily found.
5. What business value would your suggestion represent for your organization?
The ability to present your ideas clearly and logically has to have some value surely? With headings I can direct other users of the information to an area I want them to look at quickly instead of having to work out exactly where in the document to look for information. Why initially it doesn't hold much value, but when reviewing and reusing information in other calculations, it gives clear definitions where a section starts and ends.

It seems this one keeps getting archived because there is not enough definition around it. I honestly can't think of anything else to say about the outcomes I want to achieve to get this particular part over the line.

Very well put. It'd sure add to communicating design intent by a mathcad sheet.

Hey SM_6465178,

Text Styles is an area of functionality we're currently working on with the intention for it to be included in Prime 9.0. Thanks for the feedback - if there's anything specifically you'd like to see in this functionality in Prime beyond what you've detailed in your above message, please reach out to let me know (here or via direct message).

Many thanks,

Andy.

Add to that hyper links to the headings (a suggestion elsewhere) and it would be perfect!
