I work in the Energy industry and am the Mathcad cognizant Advisory Engineer for over 1,000 concurrent users in our organization.
2. What version of Mathcad are you currently running?
We're running Prime 7.0 and advertising Prime 8.0 shortly.
3. Describe the problem you are trying to solve.
We have three decades of legacy worksheets that may need to be converted if those files are needed to support our products. The 2D Chart Component gets us a lot closer and in some ways better than the Legacy Mathcad plots. However, the converter always converts to a native Mathcad Prime plot, losing units, axes and chart titles, and legends. A checkbox on the Legacy .mcd, .xmcd Converter tool could allow the the user the choice to convert all plots to 2D Chart Components (keeping all of the plot features) rather than the default native Plots
4. What is the use case for your organization?
Hours are spent per worksheet re-building 2D Chart Components to replace the plots generated from converted Legacy worksheets. This is something we have to do often.
5. What business value would your suggestion represent for your organization?
Enabling effective conversion of legacy plots in legacy worksheets to 2D Chart Components, retaining titles, legends, and axis settings, would provide a large productivity increase to our organization and any of PTC's Mathcad customers that have large repositories of legacy worksheets to convert.
