Date Field In ISO 8601 Format (YYYY-MM-DD)

Date Field In ISO 8601 Format (YYYY-MM-DD)

1. Describe your environment: What is your industry? What is your role in your organization? Describe your stakeholders.

Motioneering is an engineering firm that specializes in the design of supplementary damping solutions for skyscrapers and long-span bridges. I am a Mechanical Design Engineer with the group. For more information, you can visit our website:

https://www.motioneering.ca/

2. What version of Mathcad are you currently running?

We are currently running MathCAD Prime 7.

3. Describe the problem you are trying to solve. Please include detailed documentation such as screenshots, images or video.

The standard date format that we use at our company is per ISO 8601:

YYYY-MM-DD

We would like to be able to use this format for date fields within our MathCAD document for consistency with our other documentation. I submitted a support ticket to PTC and Dhiraj Patil (Product Specialist) assured me that this suggestion was forwarded to R&D and that it would be considered as an improvement for MathCAD Prime 8. Our correspondence took place via email/phone on January 17th, 2022.

4. What is the use case for your organization?

We use MathCAD Prime for our engineering design calculations.

5. What business value would your suggestion represent for your organization?

It's imperative that we have consistency across all our our documentation (i.e. drawings, calculations, directory structure, etc.). I sincerely hope that PTC will considered implementing this simple request into MathCAD Prime 8.
