Dual x-axis for xy plots

Dual x-axis for xy plots

Dual X-axis for XY plots

Example. Plotting solar radiation intensity (y-axis) as a function of wavelength. Wavelength will be the primary x-axis and the energy of the photon for that particular wavelength will be the secondary x-axis. The secondary axis will be inverted for this particular graph. as wavelength and energy are inversely proportional. This is useful cause for silicon bandgap energy of 1.1eV i can see from the graph how much radiation will it be able to absorb.

It's just for convenience.

So essentially, the second X-axis has different 'units' to the primary x-axis. The 'units' being able to include a functional form, so that the c/x function conversion can be done (similar to the degreeC and degreeF and DMS functions in results place holders.

I think I have even seem three and four X-axes in monographs

I would also like to have this for wavenumber and wavelength. I commonly see this with the second axis along the top edge of the graph, although sometimes both axes are at the bottom. The tick marks on the second axis are not equally spaced.

Excel has this feature implemented.

Have found this feature very useful in the past when using Excel......Gets my vote.
