2. What version of Mathcad are you currently running?
v15

I'm trying to solve the many problems with Prime as fundamentally it should do EVERYTHING that Mathcad 15 does.

4. What is the use case for your organization?
I run a department of stress engineers who use Mathcad all day, every day.

5. What business value would your suggestion represent for your organization?
We cannot work with Prime, it's slow and incredibly frustrating.

This was a topic originally posted by @RickMason but was 'archived' by PTC and locked from anyone else adding comments to it.  The original was posted back in Sept 2012 so we're now nearly 11 years on and Prime is still unusable compared to v15.  Therefore, I thought this needed to be resurrected.

Have you noticed that when Microsoft update Excel they don't scrap the old version and start again?  They don't make it look completely different and they don't remove half of the features it had before.  Like a spell checker for instance or the search function.  There's probably a good reason for this.

Spending 9hrs a day using v15 was generally a pleasant experience.  Spending 9hrs a day using Prime is making me reconsider my career choice.

Hello,

Stepping in here to archive this idea. This is not a judgement on the merit of the idea itself. And I understand the frustration...

Rather, let me simply acknowledge that the Product Management team is acutely aware and working on it release after release. Additionally, the differences between Prime and 15 have been documented more specifically on many individual ideas. More on the role of the product management in general.

What good for is the documentation of differences, when customers ask for a set of features? Moreover, Why ask for ideas at all, when "Make Prime Do EVERYTHING that v15 does!" does the job?

More ideas are actually an add-on, since they improve the basic (trust and tried) functionality of MathCad 15.

I'm not sure you can fully understood the frustration until you've been tasked with converting a circa 300 page Mathcad v15 document to Prime 8 and then had to modify the calculation to suit a design change, all within a small time frame and a given number of hours otherwise you miss your clients deadline and your company loses money.  When you know the job would have taken a couple of hours to complete in v15 but in Prime the simple change of a variable means you have to wait 5 minutes for it to update the document.  When you press enter to create some space part way through the document and have to wait several seconds each time for it to catch up.  When you spellcheck it and have to manually scroll through 300+ pages to search for the red lines under the misspelt words.  When you print the document and it cuts off the header.  When you try to search for a specific math variable used, only to find you can't do it so you have to scroll through manually looking for the needle in a haystack.  The list goes on.

@Raiko I think you've hit the nail on the head there.  The only suggestion that is needed at this point is make Prime like v15.  Once that has been achieved then ask people what additional functionality they would like.
