Make Subscript and Superscript Text Possible as in Mathcad 15

Make Subscript and Superscript Text Possible as in Mathcad 15

1. Describe your environment: What is your industry? What is your role in your organization? Describe your stakeholders.
I am an analysis engineer working in the nuclear industry. I create calculations that need to be easy to read by my colleagues and the clients that my company serves.

2. What version of Mathcad are you currently running?
Mathcad Prime 8

3. Describe the problem you are trying to solve. Please include detailed documentation such as screenshots, images or video.
Mathcad Prime does not allow superscript or subscript text in a text box or text block. This means that if attempting to refer to common SI units in free text, for example m2 or N/mm2, it is not possible to display the units correctly using superscript. Similarly it is not possible to use subscripts for referring to chemical elements or compounds, for example, U235.

4. What is the use case for your organization?
Allowing superscripts and subscripts will make display of any subscripts or superscripts required in free text much easier as it was in Mathcad 15.

5. What business value would your suggestion represent for your organization?
Inclusion of subscripts and superscripts in free text will make the calculations that we produce look more professional and easier to read for our clients.

As a work around insert math region inside the text (Ctrl-Shift-M).

The vote count should be equal to every license that is being paid for if everybody knew where to go and had access to this page. This is a very fundamental capability that should have been present in Prime 1. One of the biggest advertisements I recall from Prime's original release/goal was that the documentation strength would be improved. Prime's "documenting" capability has added some very good features we never had in Mathcad, BUT to not include a super or subscript within a text region is a most significant "miss". Please add this in the next release.

Please include detailed documentation such as screenshots, images or video.

1. What product and version are you running?
Mathcad Prime 9.0.0.0

2. What is the problem?
Compared to Mathcad 15, Mathcad Prime 9 has no function of writing text subscript or superscript in the texts.

3. Are you using a workaround? If yes, please describe it.
There is no workaround for this.

4. What is the use case for your organization? Describe how your idea would work in context or how it would apply to a practical situation.
Since math variables can have subscript and superscript, we often refer the math variables in the texts, but we cannot do it now. We could do it with Mathcad 15.

5. What impact does this problem currently have on your organization? (Number of users affected, hours of lost productivity, etc.)
You can see that this will affect everyone who uses the Mathcad Prime. We all love Mathcad 15. It is too sad to see it is gone. Please reuse as much as the good stuff in Mathcad 15!

Direly needed!

Even better if Greek alphabets and math operators/symbols/constants can be added to the texts like in MS Word.

Hi @JW_8490028

This is a duplicate of this idea (from prime 😎

Make Subscript and Superscript Text Possible as in... - PTC Community

Totally agree this is needed. Using Ctrl+Shift+M to insert a math region into text can be used as a workaround for now.
