The pure editing (i.e. calculation is switched off) of longer blocks takes extremely long (Article CS368200). The suggested workaround is not always possible. It makes sense that longer program blocks take longer to calculate. However, even if the calculation is switched off the problem remains. Other programing languages (e.g. MATLAB,Python) can be edited in a very simple text editor.
A fast editing mode (similar to a simple text editor with nothing, but the absolutely needed functionality) could bring this comfort also to MATHCAD.
4. What is the use case for your organization?
Model of a process plant. The program must loop over time and call multiple functions in each iteration. This means it is not possible to split up the block several blocks that are small enough to be edited fluently.
5. What business value would your suggestion represent for your organization?
Providing a fast editing mode would be time saving and bring the comfort of quickly editing large programs, that e.g. Pyhon provides, also to MATHCAD.
