Introduction: Mathcad allows insertion of components, such as MS Excel. Excel provides a means to do tabular calculations that PTC Mathcad does not lend itself to.
Problem: When inserting, the component is somewhat like a picture in a region. The handles on the region can be 'grabbed' to enlarge the area, and in doing so, the component shows a visual zoom, in or out.
However, there is a problem with MS Excel. Once the component has been opened in Excel mode, any semblance of zoom control is lost.
Suggestion: PTC Mathcad should provide controls to allow visual zooming of MS Excel components. This will allow the component to be fitted to the page width of the Mathcad worksheet. And, it will also allow the user to visually change and control the size, the font, the appearance of the component as needed.
Summary: The present function results in some unknown default, of which there is no control. I believe PTC Mathcad can do better than this and I am suggesting that they revise the program to provide this control.
Information: I have attached a *.pdf file to demonstrate the various aspects of this problem. See file: <<Test Simple w-zoom truncate & variables.pdf>> This has been reviewed as a case problem, per C13128763.
