Reduce file size while inserting picture data from clipboard

Hi everybody,

if you use the function Math --> Image and choose a compressed picture format (e.g. *.png or *.jpg), the file size of the Mathcad Prime file increases only the amount of the file size of the picture file. But if I copy the same file to clipboard (e.g. with the Picture Viewer IrfanView) an paste it into Mathcad Prime, I get much more increased file size.

Here some file sizes:

• Empty Mathcad Prime file:
  5.01 KB
• Mathcad Prime file with an 87.1 KB PNG-Picture, inserted with built-in function:
  92.7 KB
• Mathcad Prime file with an 87.1 KB PNG-Picture, inserted via clipboard:
  3.84 MB

So it would be very helpful to give Mathcad Prime the ability to compress uncompressed picture data coming for clipboard. This would save many clicks in my daily work ... .

Please test copy from clipboard from other programs, for example Paint, Windows Photo Viewer, Gimp. Maybe the problem is related to IrfanView ....

thanks for your suggestion.

Now I tested it also with Paint and GIMP, but I recieved the same file size (3.84 MB).
