Saving a worksheet

Saving a worksheet

First the question: When Automatic calc is on, why does Mathcad compute the worksheet when a save was requested? Since the calculated results aren't saved, this doesn't make sense to me. I have some long calc worksheets that I sometime forget to turn off Auto calc before I save and then have to wait for the calc - save.

Second, for an Enhancement: Give the option to save the computed results. It would be nice to start up with a computed result, particularly for presentations where you don't want a pdf or other document.

I also thinking about this possibility.

If you save it in .xmcd or .xmcdz format (but not the older .mcd format) it does save the results. Under "file", "properties" you can disable the saving of large results, but you cannot completely disable it.

I agree it would be nice to have an option where the saved results were more than just some decoration in the XML, and it actually started up with the previously calculated results displayed.

Mathcad Prime 2.0 opens with saved results.

Even if you convert a file from an earlier version of Mathcad, it initially shows the calculated results from the previous worksheet. It's not until you recalculate, that the results update.

I hadn't noticed that.

I don't understand. If the results are saved but not there when you startup again, how do you get to them? I always save in .xmcd. Anyway, I want them displayed on startup, so I guess I'll have to wait until I start using Prime.

Open up the .xmcd file in Notepad and search for the <Result> tags in the XML.
