Split screen

Split screen

It may be in the existing version (but I haven't found it yet), but splittable screens (similar to those in WORD) would be helpful, i.e., the ability ot view and edit two different areas of a worksheet at the same time. This would let you work on a section while viewing a related section elsewhere in the worksheet.

This isn't available in M15 to the best of my knowledge.

Word and Excel. This would be a nice feature and would give the user the chance to change design parameters and see what impact it has on results. Now the user has to manually scroll through the pages to see any impact of parameters changes.

Mike,

Or enter an area between and collapse it. But dragging the the area lines is a real pain in a long file., So;

- I would like to be able to insert the fist and last line definning an area, rather than dragging the lines.

Another good idea.

BUT DON'T WORRY - if your planning on upgrading to Prime1.0, you won't have to worry about positioning collapsed area's..........

It isn't.

I agree though. This has been requested before, more than once.

For example, Mathconnex (MCX) allowed nice management/visualization of :

- flow of calculation : after splitting a long worksheet and wiring parts (files) no more need for scrolling ...

I rememeber also nice tools available in MCX : wires & wire breakers, switches, accumulator or periodic accumulator, ramp signal, ...
not to mention the its simple and (stand alone) scripting language.

From my point of vue, MCX was (is) a great tool, and could have been one of the main direction to follow when developping Mathcad product.

Thus I haven't figured why it was abandoned... (unless competing with other Mathsoft-PTC product, or some patent infringement,...).

Please read previous + insert :

- flow of data (input or results).

Hence MCX may help on issues like :

David,

I also think you need to address "see break out box" calculations which are shown 'off to the side' (i.e. not in-line with the regular flow).

You must also address your long terms strategy for addressing simulation issues. The current MathCAD cannot do repetition, going over and over the same calculations (e.g. an area or break out box) and then plot a summary graph of the calculated trend (where most of the data was overwritten each time around). This is a real

1. I work with large data files and I find that Mathcad falls over if am not careful on how I structure the programmes. As time went by, the datafiles kept getting bigger and I know I will hit a complete limit very soon

Enhanced batch processing: Again, much is possible but time-consuming. One often notices that most features of data input and processing are convenient for single data sets but cumbersome for the lot.

  1. A standard routine that cycles through a folder containing multiple Excel sheets
  2. easier change of path names (double-click, change of card, input of name)

Sheet 7: Tie all of them together for a complete Hybrid system: Depends on sheet 4,5, and 6

1) Better tools for file input/output that will ease batch processing.
