This might be a long shot. I have Mathcad 12 (CD with activation code) and would like to know if there is anyway to activate it. This is a pretty old version of Mathcad (2008?) and from what I can find on the community page and general internet search is that PTC no longer supports these old versions, and the Mathsoft authentication server has been shut down. If anyone has any insight into how to activate this software I would appreciate it.
Here's the official anouncement: https://community.ptc.com/t5/Mathcad-Tips/Official-PTC-Mathcad-15-and-Prime-1-6-End-of-Sale-Announcement/ta-p/818870
You would stand a (small) chance if your Mathcad 12 has Cdilla as protection method. This means that you don't need internet access for activation, but you do need to install it on a PC that is equipped with a CD drive, running Windows XP or earlier, because the more recent versions of Windows don't accept Cdilla, and the activation needs to read a specific sector on the CD-rom.
Otherwise there's no way to activate it, since the server was shut down.
Success!
