MathCAD Prime 8 is looking for MathCAD 15 license

We are trying to get our MathCAD users to use MathCAD Prime 8 instead of MathCAD 15. When they go to open a 15 file in Prime 8, it is asking for a 15 license. We have removed all 15 licenses to force them to upgrade.

Why does MathCAD Prime 8 require a MathCAd 15 license to open and convert a file? This will be a major draw back in getting the users to upgrade.

PTC Mathcad Prime cannot directly open legacy Mathcad files. You will need to use Mathcad Prime 8's built-in worksheet converter tool to convert the worksheets into Mathcad Prime file format, and then you will be able to open them.
