You'll need a copy of legacy Mathcad (such as Mathcad 15) to directly open an .xmcd file. Unfortunately, PTC end-of-saled Mathcad 15 at the start of 2022.
The next-best thing you can do is get a copy of Mathcad Prime 7 or Mathcad Prime 8 and install the convertor tool to convert into an .mcdx file (which Prime can open) or into an .html file (requires Prime 8 ) if you just need to view it.
You can do this with our free 30-day trial of Mathcad Prime ( https://www.mathcad.com/en/try-and-buy/mathcad-express-free-download ) or buy Mathcad Prime for a one-year term from our eStore: https://store.ptc.com/store/ptc/en_US/list/ThemeID.21925700/categoryID.5321800
