Note that Mathcad, especially when graphing, will often use what's known as the 'principal' value: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principal_value.
So, while graphing two functions may appear to show that two functions are equal, it does not prove equality.
Once again: what's your definition of 'equivalence'?

Note that I(x) results in pure real values, while II(x) results in multivalued and complex values.
Proof of equivalence depends on your definition of 'equivalence'. If it is other than 'equality' you may stand a chance.
