Finite Element Analysis - where to in Prime/Mathcad?

Hello All,

I just started chapter 2 on my finite element analysis textbook.

I would like to start with using Prime/Mathcad for FEM computations.

Where do I go to begin this process?

Is there a tutorial you came across for FEM using prime?

Any relevant answers in addition to the questions welcome.

See please figs 18.10 & 18.11.

Hello Valery,

That was helpfull. I could relate to some of the examples I did in my textbook in chapter 2.

I did not know we had a entry field for FEM something like solver.

I will have to get to a tutorial on this in Prime/Mathcad, if there is one so far had not found.

It is completely worked out and shows all of the functions and needed steps.

I've been using Mathcad since it was first introduced in 1983 (before windows).

Mathcad is my go-to tool for all engineering calculations.

No, I learned FEM method in the 80s when the company I worked for was contracted to fix several bugs in NASTRAN.

I was tasked with the updates.

I rewrote the element stiffness model for 2D and 3D beams.  As far as I know, my beam elements are still being used in the NASTRAN program.
