Hi,
I’m looking for help with a formatting issue in the footer of the attached document.
As part of our design submission, we are including various calculations in the appendices and would like them to appear in an orderly manner. For referencing purposes, we’ve attempted to include the appendix number alongside the page number in the footer of each calculation (see attached example).
Could you advise on how to align the formatting so that there is no visible misalignment between the appendix number and the page number?
I am using Mathcad Prime 10.0.0.0
Kind regards,
Iain
Solved! Go to Solution.
I shortened the text box to the left so it could be adjusted up to match the page number.

Which misalignment are you talking about? Do you mean the header, not the footer?
Maybe it helps if you format the text region with the Appendix number to be right justified
Unfortunately Prime does not offer a way to automatically align regions so you have to move them manually.
Hi,
The misalignment occurs between the appendix number and the page number, where the page number appears slightly above the appendix number (see image below).
Hopefully this is clearer.
Iain
Ahh, yes. Now I see the misalignment.
The same type of misalignment can also be seen in the header where the text "# of 4" is not vertically centered between the horizontal line as the rest of the text but a little bit too high.
I fear that there is nothing you can do to avoid it.
Page numbers and date are implemented in a very rigid and inflexible way in Prime.
One would expect a simple code like \# or {#} which, when typed in a text region would be translated into the page number.
Sadly, PTC has gone for a different approach with Prime here, which is pretty clumsy and not very versatile.
Nonetheless I would call it a bug (which you may report to official PTC support) that these auto generated text boxed behave differently from normal text boxes and don't align the same way.
It seems as though (implicit) Mathcad Enhancement Proposals are like London buses - you wait an hour for one, and then three come along at the same time.
2D Plots are not the only things that paste as images into Text Boxes; Page Header/Footer information does too.
I'm just not sure whether to limit my MEP to inserting things into Text Boxes or go the whole hog and propose a "worksheet" region (it might not be too far a step to generalise solve blocks into subworksheets)
It's also a shame that:
a) We can't hide the left-hand side of an evaluation.
b) Math Regions don't work in Footers/Headers (you can insert them, but they don't seem to evaluate).
Both the subject of long-standing feature requests, IIRC.

Thank you for your responses @StuartBruff and @Werner_E , we will continue to manually set this footer up as best we can.
I shortened the text box to the left so it could be adjusted up to match the page number.
Cheers

??? When I open your sheet the misalignment still is present
