PTC Mathcad 15.0 M040 coming soon

While the main drive of the Mathcad team is the development of new features for PTC Mathcad Prime 4.0 and future Prime releases, we recognize the need to maintain Mathcad 15.0 for users who simply can’t move to the newest version because we have yet to implement functionality they find essential for day-to-day use. 15.0 isn’t going anywhere for the foreseeable future – we are committed to regular maintenance releases of the product until we can migrate the majority of users to the latest version of Prime.

Mathcad 15.0 M040 is due to be released shortly – we are finishing up our testing and resolving one final issue with 3D plots. This MOR is slightly different from previous  ones – while it includes several critical bug fixes, we’ve also updated the core code to support current technology advances.

15.0 is the result of over 30 years of development and in that time many operating systems have come and gone. With many users opting to continue utilizing 15.0 we made the decision to certify 15.0 M040 on Windows 8.1, allowing those users to gain the benefit of running it on more current computer hardware as well as matching the OS support of PTC Mathcad Prime 3.1. With that OS alignment, worksheet conversion should be a little easier.

We’ve also added support for MSXML 6.0, replacing the older MSXML 4.0 which Microsoft no longer supports. MSXML is a core part of how 15.0 works and with the update to version 6.0, users can be confident that any bugs or security issues will continue to be handled and updated by Microsoft.

Mathcad 15.0 M040 continues our commitment to maintain the software for users who still require it for day to day use.

Raiko

OK!

But I am going to install Windows 10 on my tablet.

What about it?

"updated the core code to support current technology" means also .NET and Visual C++ updates?

Hi Brent I second Raiko; that is good news.  But we not only need Mathcad functionality in Prime, but a ready way to convert legacy files to whatever Prime version we end up with.

Dave

Valery, PTC Mathcad 15.0 M040 will be released before Windows 10, therefore will not be certified on this platform.

Yes - as we add functionality to Prime the legacy file conversion process for that functionality improves. Our goal is to make it as seamless as possible overall.

We have finished up the last issue with regards to plot visibility on some graphics drivers, and hope to have M040 released by the end of this month (July 2015).
