Steam Tables Usage in Windows ME

I'm experiencing problems with the Steam Tables and Mathcad 2001 on a Windows ME workstation. Has anyone else experienced these problems? It doesn't return values. Instead, the function call turns red, and if you put your mouse over it, it tells you that there was a General Protection Error.

I wonder if it is because this is a very old application?

Our company is swapping to Windows 2000 Professional in a few months. Has anyone had problems with the steam tables on Windows 2000?

I've been investigating usage of this application for our companies needs as well. The only current drawback is that it is focused mainly on the International System (SI) units. The current Mathcad product has two modules, one for SI, and the other for US. We always use the US version.

The designer of WaterSteamPro may be willing to support a version for US units, but there would have to be enough potential clients. I think we would only need about 5 licenses ourselves, and that is not much in the overall scheme of things.

now we are creating (with direct contact with The International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam - www.iapws.org) a new version of WaterSteamPro in following directions:
1. Using U.S. units.
2. Work not only with poor (clear) Water but with water solutions too.
3. Work not only with Water Steam but with Gases too (flue gas of gas turbine, for example, etc.).

Valery: I hope you are not going to distort the original work to suit idiotic U.S units. It would then be of no use. There exist only one system of unit SI, in different base to suit.

Well: if you insist on US units, then why not use the very smart Katmar WASP. I checked it from end to end, it cost $80 US. Very nice product.
AND it comes in all sort of soup of unitS!!!!!!!
They also will give freeware Unconeer: Unit conversion conversion pad.

WASP again:
Actually, I'm putting down on Mathcad 8 Pro. the
IAPWS97 equations. Lot of it is done.
I'm not sure if the material I'm using is in the IAPWS97 format, but the way it was given to me is suitable to Mathcad. One just writes the equations. Its in SI units.
I have added many of my own formulas. So to suit any kind of tables. Unfortunately, not all properties can be manufactured that way, immediately. It could be in reality but I will be dead before it's finished.

In regards to US units being silly. I have to agree, however, it is what we are stuck with. (Guess where we live?) 😉

I checked out the WASP application. It appears interesting, but I don't see that it can be called directly from Mathcad or Excel. Do you know?

WASP from Katmar Software is a complete calcul pad. The non registered version works for 10 minutes at a time, and does not restaure the units from the previous visit. It is not a crippled tool. It is the full version.
I have just finished doing my own unabridged version of IAPWS_97 on Excel. An other one !!!
Will it work if the folder is e-mailed ? because of macro inside. I will know soon. If it does not work then, one will have to download the macro from Chemeng, and install. At this point my Excel
work sheet will respond. Bingo !
The Mathcad 8 Pro. will follow within 2...3 days.
In the Mathcad 8 Pro. all the properties will be included

WASP from Katmar Software is a complete calcul pad BUT NOT FOR MATHCAD.
WaterSteamPro(TM) is the program for Mathcad (Excel, Autocad, calcul pad etc).

I have the same problems with my user dll. The functions in this dll worked well in all the previous versions of Mathcad. In Mathcad 2001 professional I get a general protection error when the program calls one of my functions. Did Mathsoft changed something? I have recompiled the dll with the new library (Mcaduser.lib) and include file (Mcadincl.h) but that did not help. I checked the source file with the examples and there are no changes.
Can Mathsoft or someone else tell me what is going on?

Steam tables: I just jumped on. Expecting an answer to the problem I'm experiencing.
In my problem (see few days ago), I don't think the problem is Mathcad. It may be Windows. But how can that be because the download works perfect.
I hope somebody from Mathsoft calls for the file, and they try.
One thing is sure: IAPWS_97 made it complicated for minuscule improvements (if any at all !!).
