Hi Antony,
I am a long retired Australian Civil Engineer, lost count of the portals I designed.
Your sheet is very professionally set out and easy to follow.
On uploaded version the header footer problem seems to be fixed?
.
Strand7 and other steel design/assess programs can read a text file of input. You can see what one looks like by exporting file type "Strand7 Text File" from your assignment. Now here's the rub. It is possible using a Prime worksheet to generate such a Prime text file. Means you never have to go through all the work again just start with a few parameters describing the building size and which wind zones apply and generate a Strand7 text file with all the calculated loads and load cases.
In practice you don't use Strand7 as it does not design/assess the steel against AS4100 you would use a program that does. I still own a license to Strand7, but the same goes a text file can be used to generate text entry to such other design/asses programs. The other program I used to assess/design Australian steel to Australian codes in practice is no longer existing.
It would make a great final year project to establish such a Prime worksheet to write the input text file entry to suit one of the steel assess/design programs used in Australia now. Like Spacegass or Bentley Staad.Pro
Cheers
Terry
Can you please upload the file?
Cheers

Hi Terry,
Thank you so much for your input, which makes me very happy. I came into engineering late in life, and I am about to graduate in 20 days. I will be starting as a graduate in structural engineering at a consultancy in Brisbane after I complete my studies.
About the text file you're talking about, can you explain to me a bit more? I am open to a call on Zoom or Teams if you wish. I would like to look into it, or even have a phone call.
That's good that sheet sorted itself out, I think I had too many things open on my computer and it was having a fit.
Thank you again
Antony
Hi Antony
Congratulation on your new job.
I would hold off until you actually start your job and find out what software is used by the new company for calculations and steel design. It is probable in Brisbane Australia it is Tedds.
Then we can talk.
Cheers
Terry
Thanks, Terry,
Sounds good, I am pretty sure we use SpaceGass, Strand7 and Robot at work. But when I start full time, I will provide more details. Chat then.
Kind regards
Antony
Go to ribbon "Document", choose "Header" and click (deselect) the options "Show Grid" and also "Show Frame"
From your screenshot it looks like you accidentally turned on these two options while you had selected the header area (maybe by double clicking) and actually wanted the options to take effect for the worksheet area.
"Show Grid" affects both header and footer. that's the reason why you see the grid also in the footer area. Turn if off for the header and it also will be turned off for the footer.
The sheet you posted does not show the effect seen in your screenshot - did you post the correct file in question.
Did you try to turn off "Show Grid" and "Show Frame" in the header area as suggested above?
