solving symbolic equation
Hello,
I'm having a hard time to find 'L' using a function - please find the attached file.
L should be around 7.
Thank you very much!

I can't read Prime 3.1 files, but according your screenshot and text you simply are searching a numeric solution, not a symbolic one, right?
And then your last line isn't an equation so we have nothing which we could solve for L!
If you mean that the last expression should be zero, you could use one of the three following numerical methods to obtain the solution (it can't be 7 as L is a length).
Of course you could also use the symbolic "solve" to get all three solutions (the real one and the two conjugate complex ones). But the result would look a bit daunting.
In case you are curious - heres the symbolic solution

Thanks! Fortunately the screenshot privides by Minjae Park showed all which was necessary.
So I guess you have installed Prime3 and 3.1 side by side as was discussed a while ago and copied the sheet region by region?

Yes exactly. Well, you remember it, too.

Werner Exinger,
Thank you very much for your help! As you can see I'm a greenhorn using Mathcad prime.
Have a great day!
