Factory Console is not showing any manufacturing apps

Hi Developers,

We are working on Thingworx(8.3) to Kepware  integration. This morning we found that the NAIGATE_VIEW product features alone had expired on Saturday. THINGWORX_MFG_APPS features are all still intact.

The factory console page is not showing any of the manufacturing apps. My goal is to map the properties coming from the kepware to the assets in the TWX. I had already created the assets. The default way is to create properties through the Configuration and Setup Mashup and map them to the kepware properties. Is there a workaround for this from the TWX composer itself without using the mashup.

Thanks and Regards,

Saran

Hi Saran

I am cui. Not familiar about Navigate view function but for your below question, ThingWorx composer itself supports binding Kewpware tag to its remote properties without using manufacturing apps.

Is there a workaround for this from the TWX composer itself without using the mashup.

http://support.ptc.com/help/thingworx_hc/thingworx_8_hc/en/#page/ThingWorx%2FHelp%2FComposer%2FIndustrialConnections%2FIndustrialConnectionsExample.html%23

Please refer to above ThingWorx8 online help, Industrial Connections Example, then perform below.

1. Drag down to <Configuring KEPServerEX and Connecting to ThingWorx>

Configure connection between Kepware and ThingWorx composer.

It needs you to create a <IndustialGate> thing and a Application key, quite similar as creating a manufacturing apps server.

2. Go to <Binding Tags in KEPServerEX to Properties in ThingWorx>

Here explains how to bind Kepware tag to THingWorx remote things.

This stop should be under New Composer Mode!

Is the THINGWORX_MFG_APPS  and NAIGATE_VIEW products interlinked. If NAIGATE_VIEW is expired will it affect other mfg apps functionality. Is there some other reason why the factory console is coming blank. Because there was no service errors observed.

Hi @wcui,

Thanks for your response. We had managed to bring back the MFG Apps and used it to bind the properties. But we were not aware about this composer binding. We'll try your suggestion too.

Saran
