Installation of ThingWorx Industrial Connectivity

I'm instantiating ThingWorx Industrial Connectivity and it returns the "Hardware Key" and the "Examples and Documentation" with an X which in my understanding means that they are not existing. What would these components be? How do I make the correction?

Hi Sam,

Hardware Keys are an alternative way of licensing the product. Instead of using software IDs, hardware keys use a usb dongle and certificate file to show the Runtime it is licensed.

Hardware keys are often used in hostile environments where machine go down regularly. In this situation, the hardware key dongle can be pulled from one machine in placed in another machine that has been preconfigured with a KEPServerEX project and the necessary certificate.

The hardware key licensing option must be specified at the time of purchase and cost $150 in addition to the cost of the license.

Best Regards,

KC

Hi Sam,

These Xs on Hardware Key and examples do not mean that these items do not exist in the install, but instead just that they have not been selected for install. IF you are planning on using a hardware key (less common than software IDs) you are welcome to change that X to say "feature will be installed". Our examples and documentation are also very helpful and can be added to the preset install the same way as the hardware key.

If you are not sure what to install now, you can always make changes to your selection later by rerunning the .exe install and selecting 'modify'.

KC

And what would be the Hardware Key?
