Thingworx manufacturing apps extension import error

I am trying to import Thingworx manufacturing apps extension. I get the following errors:

- dependencies.zip file installation results: Import Failed: java.lang.NullPointerException

 -extension.zip file validation results :internal error

Thanks for sharing the information. This is the major version i.e 8.1, we would like to know minor version as well like 8.1.1,8.1.2 

Apart from this, I have a few queries:

1. Have you refer this guide ThingWorx Manufacturing Apps Setup and Configuration Guide for Installation of Manufacturing Apps and follow all the steps/ prerequisites?
2. Java version, Tomcat version?
3. Is this fresh installation or an upgrade?
4. Have you imported any other extension besides Mf Apps?
5. Can you share Thingworx Application logs from /Thingworx storage folder?

Hi

I uninstalled everything and started a fresh Thingworx 8.3 F000 H2 install using the installation guide and the system requirements guide from ptc reference documents. 

I installed the following:

-java : 

Windows x64

207.27 MB

jdk-8u171-windows-x64.exe

-Tomcat: 8.5.32 32-bit/64-bit Windows Service Installer (pgp, sha1, sha512)

Successfully deployed Thingworx and imported the dependencies.zip file successfully however the extensions.zip file is still failing.

Hi @kswate.

Did you make the recommended changes to the Tomcat java options (specific to Manufacturing and Service Apps)?  This information is on page 7 of the ThingWorx Apps Setup and Configuration Guide 8.3 under the section "Configure Java for Tomcat."  Remember to restart Tomcat after making any changes.

if this is not the cause of the issue, please provide the contents of the /ThingworxStorage/Logs folder so we can review further.

1. I deleted:

• all files created in Thingworx platform except the .json file 
• files from the Thingworx Storage folder

2. Stop tomcat

• deleted Thingworx folder from the webApps folder

3. Start tomcat

Then after I was able to import the Manufacturing Apps extension file successfully.
