Creo 3.0 Academic Crashes After Loading

I installed the academic version on a Dell M6800 laptop workstation running Windows 10. The installation was successful and the program will load. I can open a file and see the model. However, as soon as I try to perform any function, even rotating on zooming on the model the program closes with no error messages. Each time I load the program I get the same results...the program simply closes and I have no idea why.

My system is a quad core I7 with 16gb of memory and a AMD FirePro 6100 with 2gb of memory so I more than meet the system requirements. Any ideas why this is happening and what I need to do to resolve it.

Thanks.

There is problem an issue with the graphic driver for your card.
You could try the following.
In the config.pro file could you add the following line

graphics win64_gdi

If that doesn't help, could you after Creo has crashed take a look into your working directory.
There you can find std.out or even std.err.
The contents of those two files can give a better insight into why Creo crashes.
These files are erased every time you restart Creo.

I would try

graphics win32_gdi

graphics win64_gdi

was something one of my students claimed to have used successfully with a Microsoft Surface device.

I've just tested it and it seems you're right. This isn't supported.

graphics win32_gdi

is supported.

Thank you for the answer. I'm a student so as not to mesh anything up can you point me to where to find config.pro? When I type this in the Explorer search window many sub directories show up.

Thanks

Apparently you've found the correct config.pro file.

The general config.pro file can be found in

Installation_directory\Creo 3.0\M0x0\Common Files\text\config.pro
