Download links not working

Hi,

We are a FIRST Robotics team and we are trying to download Creo Illustrate from this Site

http://www.ptc.com/appserver/auth/it/esd/academicFree.jsp

When we click Download Manager we are getting 404, the same message when we click on https. Can you please fix the links so that we can download Creo Illustrate 5.0.

Thanks

Hi,

Here is what we got from academic support.

Please follow the steps in the link below to install the PTC Creo 5.0 Schools Premium Standalone Edition:

  1. Installation instructions: http://apps.ptc.com/schools/references/install_creo5_schools_premium.pdf

BH500902xxxxxxxx-MDV6

I will try with 4.1 and see if this works.

Thanks

Ram

Hi Alex,

We are using Creo 5.0 student license and will 4.1 work with 5.0? If not we need to re-install Creo 4.0 to work. Can you please send us the Creo 4.0 License so that we can try using with Creo Illustrate 4.1.

Thanks

Hello,

Creo Illustrate 4.1 should work fine with the Creo 5.0 license. In case you have any issues, please let me know and I'll find a solution.

Please note that Creo Schools Premium has the license for Illustrate Standard, so in the window that will ask for the license you will need to select Standard and you will also need to copy the license path (C:\ProgramData\PTC\Licensing\BH500.......dat).

Thanks,

Alex

Hello,

I just noticed that you are using the Student version, that per my knowledge don't have Illustrate included.

You will need Creo 5.0 Schools Premium to use Illustrate, so yo need to ask the professor from school that is mentoring you to register on the link below, as a K12 educator and ask for Creo 5.0 Schools Premium Standalone codes.

Thanks,

Alex

Hi,

We got the premium license codes for Creo5.0 and installed. BE500 number. Then we downloaded Creo Illustrate 5.0 and then installed. At the start we got this screen and we gave the .dat file which was generated in C:\ProgramData\PTC\Licensing\filename.Dat and tried starting but no such feature exists.

Attached here with is the screen shot. Can you tell if we are using correct license server?

Thanks

I tried changing to Creo Illustrate Standard also and it was giving the same error.

Hi Ram,

No, this is't the right license. The license you are using is for Creo 5.0 Schools Standard Edition. You cannot install Creo Illustrate with this license.

You will need to purchase a license of Creo Premium from the PTC store https://store.ptc.com to install Creo Illustrate.

Finally I got it working.

Steps:

To make everything work we need to use Setup.exe and not the SetupSchool.exe for Creo5.0. I used the Premium license codes for school which start with BH500..

This will create a BH500....dat file in c:\programdata\PTC\Licensing\BH50.......dat file

Complete Creo installation.

Install Creo Illustrate and when Creo 5.1 is opened it will point to the same .dat file. Use this file in the license server ->click start and the popup box disappear with Creo 5.1 illustrate screen.

I did unintall and install almost 5 to six times to get it working.
