New Layout for PTC Community Tips Boards

PTC Community Members,

As you were previously familiar with our PTC Community "Segment" Tips Boards (Creo Parametric Tips, Mathcad Tips, Windchill Tips, and IoT Tips) that were discussion boards or forums under each segment category (CAD, PLM, Mathcad, and IoT).

The content has been migrated over to our Community Knowledge Base format.

IoTTips.jpg

The access urls are the following::

CAD:  Creo Parametric Tips

Mathcad:  Mathcad Tips

IoT:  IoT Tips

AR:  Vuforia Studio and Chalk Tips

Note:  As you may have seen on previous communication, the ThingWorx Development Portal is in the process of being retired.  The most useful articles have also been migrated and dispersed throughout the new IoT Community Knowledge Base under the label Developer Education.

The best way to find the former dev portal articles would be to use "search" for your favorite titles and bookmark them on the community.

By selecting the "Bookmark" icon your (up to eight) most recent bookmarks will show up in a tray at the top of your current page for easy access.

We still need to find a way to get rid of those stock images that have nothing to do with content.  It's very confusing.

I concur that the images are a flourish without relevance in this context.

A lot of time was spent searching for, finding and deciding which images to use with the tips.....    🙂

Thank you, @Dale_Rosema   The authors of the articles have the option to upload their own outside of what is provided on the carousel as well!

When you click on the tip on the first row - middle.

This one:

This is the image at the beginning of the video:

Why couldn't they have used this thumbnail picture?

Great idea!  These images were added during the migration.  I imagine the authors will go back and edit the images they don't feel are appropriate.

If they were added during migration, where were they pulled from?

There is a list of images that get randomly assigned if there is not already a cover image. There is also a larger list of images to choose from when creating or editing an article if the author doesn't have one to upload.

Thanks all @TomU and @Dale_Rosema @tbraxton

Authors and Community Tips Board editors have been notified to go and swap out their images as they so desire on their timeline.  We appreciate your feedback!

Can you tell if any have actually done so?  I'm not seeing anything relevant, at least not on the Creo page...  Most of these articles (tips) are not new.  Are the authors really going to go back and re-add images after the fact?  Doesn't seem very practical, or likely.

I am confused about finding this in the tips section. I do not see content that I would label a tip, am I missing something?

I suspect that was mistakenly moved to the wrong board before the migration. I've moved the original to 3D Part & Assembly Design. You can now find it here Generative design - how do I create a drawing? - PTC Community.
