Think about the idea of having 3D visuals available on the shop floor as you are putting your product together. PTC Creo View representations can be embedded right in your documentation. Manufacturing needs a lot more information to put together products than just a product bill of material and some engineering drawings. By using the work instructions, which are a deliverable of manufacturing process plans, you can now get documents that detail how to put the product together. This presentation will cover what kind of information is stored within a process plan and how Solar Turbines used them to leverage 3D visualization. The presenter will also discuss how it can be use out-of-the-box as well as using a few customizations that can really enhance the level of detail while removing a lot of redundant manual work. There will also be a discussion on automatic viewable creation as well as the ability of using operated parts as additional geometry that is positioned in the correct place in the 3D representation.
