Evolving PTC Windchill After a Reorganization, While Broadening Business Support

"Over the last three years, the presenters’ companies have reorganized from four business units, to two, to now operating as a single company with functional organizations. At the same time, evolving their system from a primary focus on regulatory compliance, to a focus on supporting business users' objectives on cost, collaboration, and innovation. In this presentation, the presenters will share their “taxonomy” project, and how they are evolving their PTC Windchill implementation to support their new organizational structure, while still maintaining the Global Regulatory compliance required of every medical device company.  The presentation highlights will include: Costs: reduce product development costs by simplifying creation and maintenance of product data. Risk: streamline compliance/reduce product risk by leveraging PTC Windchill capabilities such as business rules to validate data quality. Collaboration: improve IT business support by moving from a compliance focus, to a business user support focus. Innovation: accelerate product innovation by making it easier for R&D team members to prototype work inside the system, instead of using the system only for formal release."

Presented by: Eric Starkman, The Stark Difference, Inc. and Willy Velarde, St. Jude Medical
