GE Aviation Systems PLM Journey to Effective Global Concurrent Engineering

Imagine 20+ US and global sites with thousands of engineers working on numerous new product introduction (NPI) projects with paper change/configuration processes and design data located on each designer's hard drive or better on shared network drives. Imagine again that each site implemented its own process and has its own way of managing its product data. Imagine one last time that the legacy system had to be rebooted every week to keep going. We've come a long way by implementing PTC Windchill PLM, Partlink/SUMA and Quality Solutions! The presenters will share their story of product life-cycle data management as a case study: Global Change & Configuration process: one team and one methodology to effectively manage product data for multiple P&L businesses Concurrent Engineering: effectively use global resources to develop new products simultaneously with real-time data and collaboration in a secure and export compliant environment Simplification of IT environment and integration with company's other pillar applications: no more rebooting :), the presenters eliminated the outdated component management system with PTC Windchill CSM, and furthermore we fully integrated our engineering data with ERP, Salesforce and manufacturing Forward-looking: we are very excited about PLM cloud and PLM mobile, and Internet of Things (IoT).
