Commenting on posts

While reading one of the article by Bettina Giemsa, I wanted to make a comment at the end. Is there a way to do this, or are these articles closed to comments?

(Article I wanted to comment on)

FYI: my comment was going to be about the Timing section. I couldn't agree more and that is why PTC needs to step up on the way the training/tutorials are handled, because if a user cannot find what they are looking for in a reasonable amount of time the PTC Learning Exchange, after a few attempts, they are very likely to give up looking there because they are not getting the ROI that Bettina Giemsa talks about.

Dale,

it depends on which choice made article's writer.

The article written by Bettina doesn't let you to add any comment, mine article instead yes, in the lower left corner.

Dale,

All the blog posts allow commenting - and I just double-checked, the comment button shows for me (you need to be logged in to Community to see it though). If it doesn't show for you, please email me a screenshot and I will investigate with our Community Manager to see if anything freaky is going on!

Regarding your comment on searching on Learning Exchange: I agree that search should be easy and we are working on improving the functionality on our free Learning Exchange platform on an ongoing basis. Note, however, that this is a free and additional service by us, and it is not part of our standard training portfolio.

We do offer sophisticated learning management technology in PTC University eLearning through Precision LMS, whereas PTC University Learning Exchange is rather a collection of tutorials that our staff is uploading. You might want to compare it a little bit to a mini YouTube for training - we do have guidelines for our authors, but in the end it is up to them to choose the topics they want to talk about and they tag and describe the tutorials as they find appropriate.

PTC staff is doing many of these tutorials on a voluntary basis, as they enjoy sharing their knowledge, so we don't want to be too restrictive here. For our standard eLearning content, this is different - here, we follow clear didactic rules and extensive detail.

Having said that, we are always open to suggestions, so please keep the feedback coming!

Thanks!

Bettina
