Re: Creo 3.0 Student Edition License says "Succes!...

Good day,

I'm trying to activate my Student Edition of Creo 3.0 with the following manual:

But shortly after I click on "Install License" and login into my account, he tells me that it was succesful, but also that the license is an invalid file or has an invalid format, what makes it impossible to click on "Next".

I tried it several times, disabled all kind of firewalls, rebootet, deleted the license folder, nothing works.

Any ideas?

Hi,

license file is saved in C:\ProgramData\PTC\Licensing directory, by default. Did you removed PTC subdirectory in C:\ProgramData directory ?

I tried to delete the _license.dat file and I also tried to delete the folder "Licensing"

Hi,

you can check your license file ... maybe you will find the root of the problem in it. If you publish license file contents, then I can check it, too.

Below you can find an example of Student license for K-12 students. I hope that UNI license is similar ...

I guess that your problem can be related to network card MAC address. Maybe installation is not able to get your network card MAC address.

I can check network card status for you, if you publish output of the following command entered in DOS prompt window.

ipconfig /all > ip.txt

Command output is written in ip.txt file located in user home directory.

1.] disable DHCP media sense

open Dos prompt window as Administrator

run following commands to disable DHCP media sense

netsh interface ipv4 set global dhcpmediasense=disabled

netsh interface ipv6 set global dhcpmediasense=disabled

run following commands to check results

netsh interface ipv4 show global

netsh interface ipv6 show global

>> look for Dhcp Media Sense: disabled line

2.] ipconfig output

Item no.1 ... Ethernet-Adapter LAN-Verbindung* 9: ... Juniper Network Connect Virtual Adapter

Item no.2 ... Ethernet-Adapter Hamachi: ... Hamachi Network Interface

Item no.3 ... Ethernet-Adapter LAN-Verbindung: ... Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

Item no.4 ... Drahtlos-LAN-Adapter Drahtlosnetzwerkverbindung: ... Atheros AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter

For me Item no.1 and Item no.2 are suspicious. Disable these network adapters and rerun ipconfig /all command.

Item no.3 is common LAN card ... you are not using it.

Item no.4 is common Wifi card ... you are using it.

3.] network card order

regedit

go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkCards folder

In NetworkCards folder you can find sub-folders for your network card.

These sub-folders define the order of network cards inside Windows.

Please expand sub-folders and publish pictures of regedit window.

Hi,

I do not know if missing unregistered Windows 7 can be source of the problem.

12 ... 1st network card

18 ... 2nd network card

8 .... 3rd network card

It looks like Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller is defined as 1st network card.

Suggestion:

Disable DHCP media sense and try installation.

I suggest to disable ... Ethernet-Adapter Bluetooth-Netzwerkverbindung 2

18 ... I do not understand what means Remote NDIS ....

20 ... WiFi is probably disabled

8 ... LAN card ... I suggest to change 8 to 1 and restart PC

What next ... I do not know.

I have installed creo 3.0 student edition recently, on the day of installation it worked but the next day it showing a warning of "license request file failed for future" and I got a mail with "sw_license_email", I tried to install again with both the files of license files but it was shows that "invalid file or format". Please find a solution for the erorr.
