Creo 7.0 crashes when opening file

Hello, everytime and every Computer in my university crashes, when i try to open the attached file. I saved the file shortly after no feedback was received by the program. Saving the file was possible but it also became very large in comparison to other creo files. Thanks in advance. HTWG Konstanz is the university @strobach

It is a drw. file but i cannot upload it here??? I would like to send it a Supporter via Email. Best regards

You can .zip  (compress) the file and attach it. Since it is a drawing, you must have the .prt or .asm file included.

Have you tried opening the related part or assembly? It opens with no problem?

Hello Stephen, thanks for your help. the zip file with the part is now attached in the reply. The part can be opened easily.

I don' t have creo 7 so I can't test. Someone else will have to test for you.

In would suggest someone from PTC open this file.

I have Creo 7.0.7.0 and 7.0.9.0, but company policy prevents me from downloading files from sites that I am not familiar with.

Unfortunately only educational versions of Creo Parametric are going to be able to open this.  I also suggest you reach out to PTC technical support.

Can you open a previous iteration of the file?

If you look the file will have a name similar to:

abcd.prt.1

abcd.prt.2

abcd.prt.3

abcd.prt.4

You'll have to turn on (make visible) the numbers after the .prt

Go to the number previous to the part that jumps in size.

Rename (in windows) the parts in the larger size similar to

ZZabcd.prt.3

ZZabcd.prt.4

See now if you can open the file. With the two others renamed, it will try and open abcd.prt.2.

Hello Dale, thanks for your help, but I did not save an earlier version.
