FTC parts

When will the parts for FTC be available? Our team is just beginning to discover CAD drawing, but are waiting for the parts. It would have been wonderful to have them MUCH earlier in the season, but we would be happy to have them as soon as possible. Our last competition is in Feb. and we would like to be able to model our robot changes before we actually make them. Thanks.

Hi Heidi, They will made available today. You can download the from here http://www.ptc.com/go/firstkop. Click on the FTC 2008 Kit of Parts link to select specific files or just download them all. Thanks, Mark

I found the KOP for FTC metal. Is there a KOP for the LEGO parts we are able to use as well? Thanks, Keith Walka Team 429 RoboBucs

Hi Keith, I am working with Pitsco (the provider of the Kits for FIRST) to develop a complete kit for the coming season. As for the LEGO parts......we do provide the sensors in the current kit. What are you looking for? Thanks, Mark

I was looking for beams, axles, connectors, etc to connect the sensors or motors. I think I found what I was looking for at the Robotics Academy. http://www.education.rec.ri.cmu.edu/downloads/lego/solidmodel/parts/pro/ Thanks, Keith

Mark, Actually when I tried to load these ProE files it said that they were created with a commercial version of Pro/Engineer and are not compatible with the version I was running. So I'm still not able to use the LEGO ProE parts I found. Thanks for your help, Keith

Hi Keith, Have you check out the FRC and FTC kits from the following address? www.ptc.com/go/firstkop? Thanks, Mark

Hi: I can't find the the long fastener that is part of the DC motor mount. Here's a picture. http://parts.ftcrobots.com/store/detail.aspx?CategoryID=158&by=9&ID=6327&c=1&t=0&l=0 The one of the right is longer than the one on the left. We've found the short one, but I can't find the long one, or even how to identify it. Any suggestions? --- Christine
